If you love classic console games brought over to mobile devices, then you might want to check out Final Fantasy Tactics, newly released for Android.
Square Enix has been bringing some of its classic console Final Fantasy games to Android in the past few years, such as Final Fantasy VI in 2014. Now the publisher has brought Final Fantasy Tactics, which was originally released in 1997 for the first Sony PlayStation console, over to the Google Play Store for the price of $13.99.
Technically, this version of the tactical role-playing game is actually based on the 2007 remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, which was released for the PSP console and adds some new cut scenes and other new features. Here's a breakdown of the features in the Android version:
- Intuitive Touch Screen Controls - The complex tactical game can be effortlessly and intuitively controlled by simply tapping units and menus. Gone is the old method of switching fixed map views - you can now rotate, move and change the size of maps as you please by sliding and pinching.
- Improved Loading Times - Loading times have been improved to get you into the action quicker than ever. What's more, you can even skip certain cut scenes.
Square Enix has already announced that it will bring its massively multiplayer RPG Final Fantasy XI to mobile devices sometime in 2016.
