If there's one name synonomous with online video content, it's Netflix. Its global reach is ever expanding, and presently covers virtually all of North and South America and parts of Northern Europe. Part of the attraction is the sheer volume of on-demand movies and TV content, the relatively low monthly subscription fee and the sheer number of devices that have Netlix apps, including Android.

It's really more about the service than the app, but that isn't to say it's not a good app. Because it is. Netflix was one of the first supporters of the Google Chromecast, adding yet another way to get it on your TV. It's easy to browse and find new content and with support for profiles built in, you never need to worry about a family member interfering with your suggestions.

Netflix is free to download as part of your monthly subscription, and new customers get a chance to try it free for one month first. Can't say fairer than that. No one video service has everything just yet, but Netflix comes pretty close.

Netflix app ported to Droid X, Droid 2, and OG Droid

I know the Netflix app has been out for all of a few hours, but it looks like that's all it took for some of the hard-working developers at XDA to port it over to the Droid X, Droid 2, and OG Droid. Keep in mind all these phones are running either a leaked Gingerbread build or a custom ROM running...

Unauthorized Netflix app now working on Android [update -- not any longer]

Maptec from XDA has a working copy of Netflix for Android, streaming video just fine on his HTC Evo 4G.  This is supposedly the same Netflix app from the LG Revolution system dump.  Like many, Maptec was using the apk for a queue manager, and it received an auto-update today and suddenly started...

Although the LG Revolution was announced quite a while ago now, there is still no sign of it being launched. Major Google TV update being pushed out, Logitech Revue included

Let's face it; Google TV owners have thus far had a bit of a rough ride out the gates. Big media hasn't been all too friendly as of late and many would say that Google TV was in desperate need of an update as soon as it was released. Google today, though, has taken care of some of that with a...

Logitech Revue about to get a much-needed update to its Netflix app

One of the biggest disappointments when we first fired up the Logitech Revue was the Netflix app. You can watch anything in your Instant Queue, but that's it. Nothing else. Sad panda. Netflix employee: 'Good things come to those who wait'

We still don't have Netflix on Android. And we probably won't tomorrow, either. But that doesn't mean the movie rental company isn't hard at work on an Android app. We've been pretty sure they've been spending their summer on it, and a Netflix employee is on Reddit this morning taking some...
