Nexus 6P specs

Chinese manufacturer Huawei today joins the Nexus fold with its first Google-branded smartphone, the Nexus 6P. It's a bit smaller than last year's Motorola-built Nexus 6, with a 5.7-inch display, but the 6P looks to wow buyers with an impressive aluminum shell and bleeding-edge specs. For the full Nexus 6P hardware breakdown, check out the spec sheet down below!

  • Love it! Posted via the Android Central App
  • You guys got your notification light now. Are you happy? Or does the lack of wireless charging, microSD card slot and potential Chinese spying cause for concern?
  • Wireless charging is the only thing I wish it had. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Does it support Quick charge? Posted via the Android Central App
  • I don't care about that. It is just easy to put the phone on the wireless charger or on the wireless dock charger on the car then plug it each time....
  • I agree it's easy, but wireless charging hasn't even caught up with USB Type B charging speeds yet, let alone USB Type C. You value convenience, while those of us who aren't displeased with the lack of wireless charging value battery life.
  • Tin Foil Hat Much? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Na, just brought up things that I have seen posted that people said would keep them from making the purchase. That is all.
  • LoL Posted via the Android Central App
  • MicroSD is only needed when we get charge $100 for an extra 32GB (Note 5) and don't have larger storage options. Wireless charging would have been nice but I rarely ended up using it.
  • Agreed Posted via the Android Central App
  • Any thing abiut price?
  • 128GB version is US $649, which includes 3 months of Google Play Music and a $50 Google Play credit.
  • There's a pricing blog.
  • No it's not. The nexus 6 was that for 32 hm last year so a much better deal than last years model as well as being a superior nexus Posted via the Android Central App
  • Starting price of $700 in Canada. Sigh. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Not very cheaper than other flagship device,,,,
  • Yeah.. $849 for the 128Gb... Expensive much?? I don't really want the 5x and I may resort to just buying the 6 when it drops in price. Posted via the Android Central App on My Nexus 5
  • I just got the Nexus 6 64gb from Amazon for $400. As long as you make sure you're getting it directly from Amazon, you'll get the US model.
  • Why not use proxy to order from US page and use mail re-direct service to get it to Canada? cost 20 extra instead of a few hundred... btw, just did it.
  • So it has a LED light but are they gonna use it? Or is it hidden like the Nexus 6? Posted via the Android Central App
  • My LED notification light works on my Nexus 6 which is rooted and unlocked. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Exactly, it has to be rooted for the notification light to work. Delivered by my Shamu
  • The phone is great! Except for the ugly black long strip on the back. 5x for me this year. Posted via the Android Central App on Moto X 2014/Moto G3/Moto G1/Lenovo Tab S8/ Lenovo Yoga 11 on $35 Cricket wireless plan.
  • ... THAT'S the deciding factor for you?
  • 6P is an awesome phone. I wonder when It will be possible to buy it in my country though :/
  • "OK Google!" When can I pre-order the Nexus 6P?
  • It's available for pre-order in the store now.
  • Nice typing on the live blog, Alex, though Phil had to take more photos :)
    Have a coffee on us!
I stayed with it for 20 minutes. Huawei make the 6P, LG the 5X and never the twain shall meet :) SD 810 v2.1? 5X not Amoled. Dunno.
Some good features and I wouldn't kick either out of bed, but it comes down to price drops and competition - or you just have to have Marshmallow NOW.
  • So this or the Moto X Pure edition?!?!
  • That's my debacle Posted via the Android Central App
  • Me too. I guess I'll have to wait for a full AC review before deciding.
  • This. Fingerprint sensor + quickest updates to Android. Moto botched the 5.0 upgrade on the Moto X 2014. it was horrible until 5.1.
  • Sony. Nexus. Together. When?! :(
  • I have been wanting this for sooooo long. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Sony is a one trick pony when it comes to phones, pass. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Correct me if I'm wrong but,
USB Type-C isn't part of the micro USB spec right? Posted via the Android Central App
  • No. I'm not sure where this "micro USB type-C" stuff is coming from, but I'm 95%sure it's not a thing. Wubba lubba dub dub!
  • If my bank allowed android pay I would consider this device even though it's all Chinese made as everything else (spec wise) looks great. I don't like the black strip in the back either, reminds me of the old Droid X from 5 years ago. Looks like I'm still in the Moto X Pure camp. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Two things wrong with this phone. 1. No OIS. Definite deal breaker
    2. That ugly black bar on the back of the phone.
  • 810 +++ Insert witty signature, watch as others not get it, profit +++
  • It has a notification light?! This shall be mine... Posted via the Android Central App
  • I wish it supported Verizon. Stupid Verizon and it's good coverage that it won't allow me to change carriers Posted via the Android Central App
  • Dang it! So no Verizon bands? Okay well that made the toss up between Nexus and MXPE so much easier. I was really hoping the Nexus would jump on board this year.
  • It does work on Verizon, just like the N6 and Moto Pure. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yup. http://www.droid-life.com/2015/09/28/nexus-6p-hits-fcc-as-well-with-supp... Posted via Android Central App
  • Just got my 64gig aluminum. Oh yeah! Posted via the ACA on NEXUS 6
  • Is it USB 2.0 or 3.1? I love that it is a Type-C connector.
  • Only 3 GB of RAM? It's really plenty... But the top tier nexus should be able to keep up with the Oneplus 2 and Zenfone 2... Wubba lubba dub dub!
  • The 6p is only missing wireless charging! Guess I finally got to buy a Huawei phone that works in the US (4g)! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Can anyone compare the speakers and/or sound quality to HTC or Moto front facing speakers? I realize nobody actually has the 6P, but I've really enjoyed the front facing speakers of my Nexus 6 and Moto Pure. I haven't heard what type of speakers will be in the 6p and don't have any knowledge of previous Huawei phones. Posted via Android Central App
  • HTC One spoiled me. All my phones must have front facing speakers now. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I hear ya!
  • The Nexus 6P is Not bad. I'll wait and see. I have the Moto Nexus 6 and I'm happy with it, but the fingerprint scanner and the 3420 mAh battery on the Nexus 6P interests me though. Posted via the Android Central App via My Nexus 6
  • With the battery size and different storage options, this looks to be a good phone. I still don't like the back of the phone where the camera is. Maybe a good case would help with that.
  • The black bar is off putting and on paper it's not much better than the Moto Nexus 6. Posted via the Android Central App via My Nexus 6
  • 128GB. 'Nuff said. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I'd pick the 64GB version. Posted via the Android Central App via My Nexus 6
  • That black bar on the back isn't so bad on the black version of the phone. They could have at least made it match the rest of the phone. Via US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S5
  • SnapToaster 810? Pass.
