What you need to know
- PlayStation recently revealed that Bluepoint Games is developing a PS5 remake of Demon's Souls.
- There's several new high-quality screenshots of different environments and an enemy.
- Demon's Souls on PS5 currently has no release date.
One of the most exciting (if widely-rumored) announcements during yesterday's PlayStation 5 showcase was the confirmation that Bluepoint Games is remaking Demon's Souls for the PS5.
Bluepoint is experienced with remasters and remakes, handling Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the Shadow of the Colossus remake. That work continues even further here, with stunning detail for the Gothic world of Boletaria. There's even ray-tracing at work, as well as the confirmation that players can choose between a mode focused on graphics and a mode focused on a smoother frame rate.
You can take a look at several gorgeous screenshots in the gallery below.
This is a full remake, not a remaster, so it's possible that Bluepoint Games has some surprises in store for veteran players looking to breeze through the game's challenges. As to what they could be, we can only speculate.
Demon's Souls PS5 remake currently has no release date or even release window, so hopefully we'll learn when we get to play it fairly soon. The PS5 is currently slated to arrive at some point in Holiday 2020.
