Samsung announces Smart Home SDK beta

Samsung has launched the beta of its Smart Home SDK, first unveiled back in September at IFA 2014. The SDK allows appliances developed with it to be controlled from Samsung Smart TVs and smartphones. The beta is currently available for device developers, as well as service partners.

Samsung also says that they are committed to an open connected home platform through its investment in SmartThings, which it acquired in August for $200 million. For instance, they recently integrated a number of their appliances into the new SmartThings IDE.

Samsung is currently demoing their Smart Home platform for attendees of their second-annual Samsung Developers Conference. Be sure to keep your eye on Android Central for more from the conference.
