Announced during Summer 2011, the Galaxy Xcover is Samsung's take on a rugged Android smartphone. Since then we haven't seen much of it. But now though the IP67 certified, dirt, dust and water resistant device is available in the Republic of Ireland, for those who need a phone that can take some abuse.

With Gingerbread and Touchwiz on board, the Xcover is available now from eMobile, Meteor and Three, and can be had free of charge on a new contract.

Rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover released in Ireland

Why can't we have something like this in the US? The only rugged Android phone I know of is the G'zOne Commando, and it doesn't exactly look like a normal Android phone, you know?
