As yet unseen update pushing out alongside the dual-sim version of the HTC One

Indian HTC One owners are in for a treat, as HTC India has announced that Android 4.4 KitKat is pushing out from now to the dual-sim variant. Not only that, but the HTC One Max and One Mini are also seeing the update to KitKat. Reports suggest similar updates in other countries in Asia such as Malaysia as well.

Only a couple of days back during its Reddit AMA, HTC stated that updates for the One Max and One Mini are in the works, but that we should be seeing them in March and April respectively. Presumably then, that applies to U.S. devices, but they sure weren't bending the truth in saying the updates were in the pipeline.

So, if you're in India with one of the above listed devices, head into Settings>About>Software Update to check if if its hit you yet. As an added bonus, you also 25GB of free Google Drive storage with the update, though HTC India didn't declare how long that's for. If you get it, drop us a line in the comments and let us know how you're finding it!

KitKat update pushing out to HTC One Max and One Mini in India

Now the real question is when will Verizon allow HTC push out the Kit-Kat update

They will take a month or 2 I'm sure adding their crapware & useless apps like VZ navigator, I mean who really uses that over Google Maps?

Its a hell of a lot easier for them to do seeing as now they I only have something like three devices with variants to keep updated, I instead of 40...

Posted from my "KNOX-FREE" 4.3 Sprint GS3 Maxx...!!!
(ZeroLemon 7000mA battery and ZeroShock Case)

And yet still nothing in the UK for the sim-free ONE, even though it was supposed to be "from the end of January"

MAJOR FAIL. Company's in difficulty shouldn't be lying to their customers

Posted from the ONE

It was released in eastern Europe. UK and MEA Unlocked HTC phones have really close if not the same update times. Both are waiting.

It is very much obvious that HTC is now very asia dependent, and therefore that's where the updates have to be launched first !
Leaving in France I'm quiet disappointed, but my carrier told me that I will get KitKat next week, can't wait !
I actually prefer KitKat on my One than on the 2014 One if the useless black bezel bar with the HTC Logo is true ...
