HTC updates

Verizon and HTC have announced a small update for the Rezound and the Droid Incredible 2 today. Listed only as a "Device Enhancement", no one is yet sure exactly what is getting updated, only that said updates should be making their way to handsets soon. Keep an eye on the forums to find out more.

Would actually love to see the changelog to see what they did.

Don't hold your breath, HTC had never provided a detailed changelog on any of their updates. I just don't understand the secrecy my self.

I suspect an "enhancement" that either furthers the effort to prevent rooting the phone, or one that makes it harder to revert back to stock... Anything the opposite of providing ICS, and that nearly 6 months later than the late date of end of August anyway. I rooted a long time ago, but it's the principle of the thing. That reason alone is why I don't want an HTC phone again anytime soon. This update should fall very short of the promised bar.

Stick a fork in this under appreciated phone (the Rezound, but both were neglected). Verizon nor HTC gave them a fair shake so move on like I did & probably most other customers. Buy direct from Google & get a Straight Talk SIM (or some other prepay of your choice) & enjoy true freedom with your device.

Verizon sucks rotten eggs the WORST CARRIER EVER. Bloatware infested devices are useless.

squiddy20 says:

:sigh
Bloatware which can be disabled in any device running Android 4.0 or above, without root or any sort of hacking. You've claimed to be "in the know when it comes to technology", and yet you still don't get tis very basic fact, even after my telling you so for over a year.

MarkSeven says:

Disabling is not the same as "not being there in the first place"..

Only "enhancement" I've found so far on my dinc2 is that I can no longer add new cities to my World Clock. Anyone else?

Kxronos says:

That is a problem on mine as well. I can click the button to add a city, but when I search, nothing happens.

CatBug says:

Glad to know I'm not alone, I've noticed the same thing. I had other cities in there, so it must have worked at some point.

BaasGaas says:

I just received my update and now I do not have root access anymore. Not sure whether I will have to go through the whole mambo-jambo again or just need to run su. Will update after lunch.

graywolfman says:

Is lunch 3 days long? Lol they're trying to push this update to my phone today, and I'm curious, were you able to get root again?? Thanks!

The HTC Device Enhancements might just be a cover up name for this.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/22/htc-charged-with-leaving-_n_274...
