HTC Evo 4G HDMI Dock

We've all been waiting on the official HTC Evo 4G HDMI dock, and that wait is finally over. We now have the official dock with which we can output high-definition video from our phone to our television -- and charge it at the same time.

And it's that simple. Inside the box you have the dock, and a 6-foot -- that's 72 inches, folks -- HDMI cable. And that's all you need to get going. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the dock, and the other end into your phone. Plug your Evo into the dock, and you're good to go.

The dock itself is nicely weighted and has four little rubber feet to keep it in place. It's made of a black glossy plastic, which means it looks great but is one heck of a fingerprint magnet, if you worry about that sort of thing. Your phone sits upright, at a slight angle. It takes just a tad of force to plug it in and take it out, and that means we're not worried about it coming out accidentally.

The rear of the dock has a couple of ports -- one for the included HDMI cable, the other for a microUSB charger, so you can keep your phone juiced while you watch video and slide shows on your television.

In the 2nd paragraph, you say to plug one end of the HDMI cable into the dock, and the other end into the phone. Do you mean TV? I assume it is a standard HDMI cable judging by the port in the back of the dock.

Why can't they make these usefull if you have a hard/soft case? I don't want to take my case off every time I want to use it!

True. I picked this up w/out realizing it couldn't be used w/ my Otterbox case. At least I have the HDMI cable if I need it.

What is the Part number for this HDMI Base? I can not bind it on the Sprint or the HTC site? The link in the article also does not lead to it.

It does not look like it has much "back support", does it come with its own power supply? The review does not say nor is it in the pictures. I do like the full sized HDMI port tho. Would like to give it a Test Drive tho.
