Latest software update also brings Sense 5.0 along for the ride

We knew earlier in the week that AT&T's HTC One X+ was due a software update, and now it seems to be hitting devices. Software version 2.15.502.1 brings with it namely Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.0. Sure, this might be the end of the road for the One X+ in terms of major updates, but it's a solid update to get for a device that's been on sale now for a good 15 months.

If you're yet to see it, you'll want to be heading into Settings > Software Update > Check for Updates and see if anything is coming your way. If you've already updated, drop us a line in the comments and let us know how you're finding it.

SabinBobo says:

Same thing happened to me. I got some small update yesterday, and afterward it said I couldn't check again for 24 hours.

So color me angry... I've been told that my sprint HtC evo4gLTE was gonna get 4.3/Sense 5 back in october by a sprint agent. Then it was moved all the way to end of the year by Jason Mackenzie via twitter. Then I am now being told Mid february. Really though. where is this update for me. I've put too much heart and soul into this device and I want to see the update before I get my phone upgrade and move on. Anyone know the status of this for the EVO 4g LTE on sprint? let me know .

Just as a general rule, don't take anything carrier agents tell you about update timelines seriously. Unless it comes from an official spokesperson or the company's official Twitter or whatever, it's probably just smoke up your ass.

I've researched this for three months now, and the last word was that the EVO 4G LTE would go to testing in Jan 2014, and be ready to go to the public in Mid February 2014. This isn't a major problem for me. If I had the AT&T versions (ONE X, ONE X+), I would be pissed. At least we are getting 4.3, just have to wait a little longer. In the mean time, my phone is performing flawlessly.

FFS, buy a Nexus next time. How much is your time worth?

wmurch3 says:

No doubt. I don't get why people are so butt hurt about this stuff. I had the HTC Evo 4g LTE for about a year and I now have the HTC One. Honestly there's very little difference between Sense 4.0 and Sense 5. Sure there are cosmetic differences but nothing revolutionary. In fact, there are things I miss about sense 4 (the lock screen music controls for one).

I just checked, it told me I had an update so I went through but nothing changed and it still says I'm on 4.1 and Sense 4+. Now it says I can't check for 24hrs for a new update.

Set your clock ahead and try again

dmfrey says:

Same with me after the update. Still on 4.1.1 and Sense 4.5.

dmfrey says:

Did the Date trick mentioned above and now it is downloading a much larger image, 523MB.

I changed my system time and date to tomorrow and I was able to download 4.2.2 which is about 512MB.

Finally, Sense 5, Blinkfeed and a newer version of Android.

Still on 4.1 with my one x on TELUS. But I'm running Nova Prime Beta with Tesla coil's lock screen so I'm not missing much besides lock screen widgets

A bit off topic, but how come no news on this site about the HTC One being in the process now of updating to Kit Kat in France?

Ok so when I try to search for updates my phone will search for about 10 seconds and then the little window disappears and about 48 hours later it randomly pops back up and tries searching for about 15 minutes. Then it tells me nothing is available. I have tried turning off my auto date and changing it to the next day and again the little window popped up for about 10 seconds and then disapeared again. It's been two months and I am still not able to download this update. Why is this happening?
