HTC doubles Google Drive storage for One M8, One Max, One Remix, and Desire devices

HTC is giving a boost to some of its newest devices with a promotion for new owners to get double the Google Drive storage capacity. Now, instead of the usual 50 GB cloud storage space, new One M8, One Remix, One Max, Desire 610, and Desire 816 owners can get 100 GB of storage for free for two years.

To redeem the storage offer, all you need to do is launch the Google Drive app that's preloaded on your HTC phone and click redeem.

Does this offer make HTC's devices more attractive compared to rival manufacturers?

They better double the support and bezels, oh.. Ummm guess they did double the bezels already. Anyways, back to the support...

Exactly what I was thinking. You'll still have a phone almost the size of a note with the screen the size of a nexus

This. And Samsung phones don't have bezels? Who gives a crap about a 2 or 3 mm bezel when the phone is spectacular?

Posted via Android Central App

What about early adopters? I don't see that mentioned anywhere. Wait, I'll launch my Google Drive app to check...

Yes it worked. Just as well, I've had to reset my phone since the last software update (I'm looking at you AT&T). Now it's as if I have a new phone. ;)
I now have 125 GB of Google Drive storage until 2016.

I'm totally using that extra 50 GB on my Sammy right now!! Loophole!! I grabbed the promo when I owned the m8 for all of a week, and now the promo traveled with me, plus the newest 50 GB addition. Winning!!!

Meh. It works for a camera phone. If I want to do some real photography I'll grab my dslr...

Posted via Android Central App

$750 phone that has hundreds of functions, or a $1600 DSLR devoted to taking pictures. I know which one I'm grabbing when it's fine to take a picture.

Posted via Android Central App

I'm up to 150GB! 25GB original, 25GB from my One M7, and now 100GB from my One M8! It just makes my phone that much more useful.

Just got an email from Google verifying this very thing. Way to go HTC, looking out for everyone who bought eligible devices, not just new customers!

Just when I thought you had given up on bashing HTC here you go again but then you take offence when someone makes fun of Samsung ? Come on your better then that you don't like Aluminum phones we get it but if its so awful why is Samsung copying it with the galaxy alpha? I see more damage on peoples s4 s5 note 3 faux metal band then I do on my wife's m8 its in mint condition if you take care of your devices it will be fine

Have to agree with you there. Neither my M7 or M8 have a single ding, scratch, dent, etc. And they still look better than any Samsung.

Posted via Android Central App

SURE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>that could be true but when I scratch the back of my note, I can replace it for less than $10. How about you?

Seriously dude give it a rest. I have an HTC One. My friends have HTC Ones. None of us have scratches. I'm glad you're happy with your Note. We're certainly happy with the One.

Oh so I cannot bash parts that suck and at the same time praise things that are great. If I bash anything, I hate HTC?

No that is not how it works, sorry. I bash everyone pretty equally but only on the parts that suck. I bash HTC for the "premium" build but praise them on the Skin. I bash my Note 3 on TW but praise them on the S-Pen. I bash Moto-X on the camera, but praise them on taking an innovative approach to not spec whoring but giving great performance...

I guess people read what they want...

Is that a new version of the tolerance movement? Nothing is bashable anymore? Yeesh..alright, alright, go make love to your m8

Bash is a figure of speech. Maybe for you I need to say 'wish wasn't there' but I think that people around here are adults.
I forgot I had to deal with precious snowflakes as well.

Guess you can design the best phone, wonder why no one has done it or taken advice from you.

Posted via the Android Central App

Sure.

The lumina camera, the g3 screen, and 805 chip, either Maxx battery or removable, Sense skin, Note 3 body.

Sadly it it different companies so it could never work.

As has been said before, if you make the perfect thing, no matter what the thing, you give people no incentive to buy the next thing.

Aluminium body is very overrated. I'd much rather have water proof and removable battery, not to mention space better used on the front screen.

And don't be foolish, if you drop that phone without a case, waist high, on concrete, more times than not its toast. If it's not toast, then that precious, slippery, useless aluminum body will dent.

Oh come on you drop pretty much any phone from that height, the outcome will be in the lap of the gods..say wot you like ..but the HTC phones feel well made I'd rate them just behind the iPhone in build quality ...as for the camera that everyone tries to slate ...I've just come back from London and my m8 pictures were far superior to my wife's iPhone pictures ...I'm really impressed with it ..

Posted via Android Central App

I've had my phone since week 1 and have no dings or dents. Do you own an m8? If not, you have no room to comment on it.

Posted via Android Central App

Yes and ditched it. That phone is the classic example of the underdog that gets more positive attention than it should.

Posted via the Android Central App

Not when you're repeating yourself in every HTC related articles.

The guy is as thick as the bezels he's complaining about.

Posted via Android Central App

My, my, i have a follower. Should I be honored or worried? That m8 would maker a nasty weapon....
What brings you out of the wood work? Your unrequited love for HTC? Seems we might have something in common ; )

I have a work tester and it is not just about what has happened it is about what could happen.

Check out the drop tests on here and other places and hope it doesn't happen to you

Posted via Android Central App

You are confused.

People can read the entire thread and see I nowhere stated any 'facts' that needed backing up.

All I did was accept your request to check out a drop test and provided a link.

Now people can easily review both and judge for themselves.

At first I thought I only got an extra 50GB not 100 :( but i signed it from my laptop and saw the 100

Thanks AC for letting me know !

Rocking 225gb here. 100 for one M8 and 100 from chromebook. Not sure about the other 25! Lol

Posted via the Android Central App

Hmm..hope their cloud storage is more secure than apples ...
Thanks ...but no thanks ..I'll keep my stuff on my phone ...
