HTC One Max

There's an update available over-the-air for the Sprint HTC One Max that adds a slew of features, almost all tied in to HTC Sense 6. The update, weighing in at a heft 537MB, adds most of the features we've come to love about Sense 6 on the HTC One M8 to the One Max, with the notable exception of Motion Launch.

There's a lot that Sense 6 is bringing to the One Max. There's the refreshed and cleaned up interface with its revised HTC BlinkFeed. And an updated easier-to-use camera app (though obviously no Duo effects here without the dual cameras of the One M8). Hell, the update even moved many of the HTC apps into Google Play so they'll be able to be updated faster and without a system update in the future. What's not to love?

HTC One Sense 6 update

According to HTC's Sense 6 progress tracker both the Sprint and Verizon One Max updates for Sense 6have hit the certification phase (the final step before release to consumers), as have all editions of the HTC One M7. So it likely won't be long until we see releases for those smartphones as well.

I'm shocked the HTC One Max gets the sense 6 update before the M7. That's crazy! Lol

Lol you would think but if it follows the same pattern as the M7 then it will be shortly available right after the Sprint update.

Why are they getting this before the unlocked version?

Kraizk says:

Because it is the One Max and not the Developer and/or international editions. There is no Max developer edition last I looked and IIRC the international versions have been receiving their updates after the U.S.

Sweet!!!
That means we should be getting it soon.

Impressive. Sense 6 only about a month after its debut on the M8? Anyone want to speculate on how long it takes Samsung to update the S4 and Note 3 to the new version of TouchWiz from the S5?

Next Android version update?

If it mattered, it would be a big deal, it doesn't matter though. Know why?

Sense 6, while very feature rich, pales in comparison to TouchWiz.

Oh and no amount of software will fix those horrid cameras on any of the One series

HTC needs to fix the volume control issue on headsets. I bought the OEM headset with volume control right after I bought the HTC One. It worked fine on sense 5.0 but since updated to 5.5 and 6.0 the volume button just changes tracks.

Off topic I know, but does anyone know what wallpaper this is in the OP image?

BldyIdt says:

I think it's one of the default wallpapers on the M7.

Yeah it's a stock one. It's the orange and blue one with a white stripe, just in that image above it looks red.

I got this update today and it has completely ruined my phone, After the update my phone turned on fine, but went to unlock it and it has automatically changed to a voice unlock screen instead of my normal password, i cannot get past this voice screen lock and i cannot do anything (other than use the camera and take a picture...)

After speaking to someone from HTC they said all i can do is reset my phone, however i have fast boot on so it wont let me factory reset the phone, So be warned people and back up your stuff and if anyone can help then please do, I don't fancy losing all of my stuff.
TIA

hi, any chance you found a solution and managed to get back into your phone? the same has happened to me today

Tomjw says:

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat! Unfortunately no, The only thing i have been told which has come from HTC online help is that it is a system glitch and i will have to factory reset my phone, however i am unable to do that because Fast boot setting is still on, So i am completely without a phone now until i can find a way past this voice unlock screen, it wont even show any hint at it recognising/receiving any sound, If you get past it please reply the solution!
