Oh, by the way ... With the push of the latest update to the HTC EVO 3D, aspiring developers and hackers can now unlock the bootloader using HTC's web tool. (And that comes just three days after the European Sensation.) Remember that this does officially void your warranty, so you're taking things into your own hands. But you already knew that, right?

EVO 3D's bootloader unlock tool now available from HTCDev

hooray this is wonderful! ill stick with revolution though, i like having a full warrenty and being able to return to stock s-on state if i need to

I unlocked my bootloader using HTC Dev's method. I run into the problem at flashing a recovery though. Neither TeamWin nor CWM's recovery will work.

Little irresponsible of AC to say that unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty.. Even HTC states on the web page "It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty"

Meaning if you break your phone BECAUSE of unlocking, you may not be covered.

Actually, some further clarification is needed for the legal-eze. HTC give this warning: "unlocking your device may void all or parts of your warranty. HTC disclaims any and all liability for proper functioning of your device after the bootloader has been unlocked". That sounds like you're pretty much setting yourself up for losing the whole warranty. I guess it makes sense for them. Why should they have to pay for you overclocking and frying your CPU? Most ROMs are relatively harmless, but some do push the boundaries of what the hardware is supposed to do.

Why would this make the 3D number one? I even have a 3D and that remark was stupid. Wouldn't Samsung be number 1 considering they ship with unlocked bootloaders ?
