Avenged Sevenfold's Hail to the King: Deathbat coming soon

Avenged Sevenfold plans to rock your smartphone and tablet out of its mind as the well known hard rock band plans to release its own fantasy action-RPG, Hail to the King: Deathbat, on Android and iOS on October 16.

The game is supposed to be a companion piece to an animated web series that the band has already released. Here's a quick description:

Hail to the King: Deathbat is a brutal romp through the darkest depths of the underworld with an epic tale of redemption, devastating melee combat, towering boss fights, 7 hellish landscapes and classic Avenged Sevenfold cuts along with a new and original score composed by the band.

If you feel you are ready for the power that Avenged Sevenfold is planning to unleash to mobile gamers, you might want to keep October 16 available. What do you think about the prospects for this game?

  • Here's hoping it won't suck as much as their music. Posted via Android Central App on my Nexus 5
  • They need to focus on making their music like they did on ST7T and Waking The Fallen instead of making a cartoon and mobile game. Posted via the Android Central App
  • If you don't like their music, stop listening. They're making the music they want, not the music you want. Posted via Android Central App

  • Do you actually think they are comic artists or programmers? They don't actually make this stuff. They play their music. That's it. Period. They just throw out ideas, based on their music and other teams take over the rest of it. This game and the cartoon take nothing away from their focus. You really need to just relax about it.
  • No but any amount of time spent giving ideas for those is wasted musical potential.... That they've already lost so much of. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I love Avenged Sevenfold. Waking the Fallen is easily their best album imo, but I enjoy their newer material equally. Posted via the Android Central App
  • They were good until The Rev died....IMO Posted via Android Central App
  • I enjoyed everything up to Nightmare, which was particularly written by The Rev and the drumming performed brilliantly by Mike Portnoy. But I just can't get into 'hail to the king', nothing memorable about it.
  • The drums in the song Nightmare are amazing.....especially in the guitar solo. Sounds like a helicopter landing on the roof!
