Today's the day that PlayStation Mobile launches, and not just on Sony's own Xperia devices. Keep in mind that the list of non-Sony phones compatible with PlayStation Mobile is still pretty short. Even if you have a compatible device, you'll need to live in Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, or Australia to get in on the action. I still can't download it here in Canada, but you can expect the switch to be flipped soon. The initial selection of games in the new store isn't great, but Sony promises that new titles will be added every Wednesday.

  • Frederic – Resurrection of Music ($3.99 / £3.19)
  • Loot The Land ($3.99 / £3.19)
  • incurvio ($7.49 / £5.89)
  • Wipe! ($1.49 / £1.19)
  • Magic Arrows ($4.99 / £3.99)
  • Everbody’s Arcade (Free trial / IAP)
  • Underline ($2.79 / £2.19)
  • Nyoqix ($5.49 / £4.49)
  • Numblast ($2.99 / £2.39)
  • Super Crate Box ($3.49 / £2.79)
  • Aqua Kitty – Milk Mine Defender ($3.49 / £2.79)
  • Flick Hockey ($2.29 / £1.79)
  • Word Blocked ($1.99 / £1.59)
  • Rebel ($1.99 / £1.59)
  • Tractor Trails ($2.29 / £2.59)
  • Hungry Giraffe ($2.99 / £2.39)
  • Beats Slider ($0.79 / £0.65)
  • Fuel Tiracas ($0.49 / £0.40)
  • Twist Pilot ($3.49 / £2.79)
  • Samurai Beatdown ($0.99 / £0.79)
  • Beats Trellis ($0.79 / £0.65)

Once purchased, these games can be played on up to three devices. More info on PSM can be found at Sony's landing page. Are any of you guys able to get into the new PlayStation Mobile store? Are any of these games really catching your eye, or are there particular titles that you'd like to see make the leap from PS3 to Android?

I don't know how many played it, but if they could release Journey for Android, I would buy it in a heartbeat. It's beautiful and it would translate really well because it's controls are so simple.

Doesn't work for me, and I'm on a Sony device.

No love on the Galaxy S3 in Ottawa, Canada.
Would be great to see some support!

Dude, Wi-five for Ottawa. I'm in the Britannia area.

Don't work for either and I have the ATT Xperia ion

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't the point/appeal of a PlayStation Game Store to have you know...PlayStation games? These seem to all be games that could just as easily be on iOS, Android, WP, BB, etc. Where's God of War, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Resident Evil, etc.? Launching the service with not even 1 of those seems really dumb. There's virtually no incentive to buy any of these. And none of these are free either (other than the demo of the arcade), which some of them probably should be since they seem to be glorified pre-existing mobile games. They're not going to be able to sell the service on the PlayStation name & potential alone. The PSP, Vita, & PS3 have pretty much proven that.

Simon Sage says:

Yeah, it's a slow start, but I think for the time being it's just laying the groundwork for those big-name brands. Right now the only other company remotely in a position to provide strong console game/mobile synergy is Microsoft, and they're focusing exclusively on Windows Phone. At least Sony's starting to wise up and not keeping PlayStation certification to solely their handsets. Once PSM starts gaining momentum, I think we'll see developers and publishers becoming more interested in providing strong mobile counterparts to console releases.

I was about to ask the same question as destructor. I understand your point of Sony laying groundwork, but if you're going to introduce a product like this, you better have some compelling content to drive people to use it. While I obviously can't speak for everyone, nothing on that list really interests me. IMHO, if they offer some great titles, consumers may actually put effort into purchasing a Sony or Playstation Certified smartphone.

Suntan says:

You summed it up.

Why go to the hassle of this playstation network when I can get the same type of games directly from the Play Store?

I pretty much agree with destructor, but honestly, I'd LOVE to have "Fl0w" on Android :)

I thought this was suppose to be available for the Transformer Prime. Is that coming later?

::yaaaawwwwnnnn:: Tell Sony to wake me when Tekken hits Android devices!

PeterPhan says:

Short list? Why not just mention it's only available for Sony & HTC devices?

faceless says:

"Once purchased, these games can be played on up to three devices"

they have already failed.

sURFNmADNESS says:

Installs on the G3 however gives error on launch of app.

Gearu says:

What? None of those are playstation games to my knowledge.

rydo88 says:

As far as I can tell, it still isn't available for Xperia Tablet S. You know, Sony's flagship tablet. Which is pretty stupid, regardless of the fact that there are exactly 0 games on that list that make me want to use this.

PS Mobile is off to a bad start. Talk about an awful lineup of games.
