At a media event in Mumbai, Vivo unveiled the V3 and V3 Max. The phones are targeted at the mid-range segment, with the V3 set to retail for ₹17,980 and the V3 Max for ₹23,980.

The V3 Max is the more interesting of the two phones, offering a 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC (1.8GHz Cortex A72 and 1.4GHz Cortex A53), 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory, microSD slot, 13MP camera, 8MP front camera, LTE connectivity, and a 3000mAh battery.

As for the Vivo V3, you get a 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 616 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory, microSD slot, 13MP camera, 8MP front shooter, LTE, and a 2550mAh battery.

The phones feature 2.5D curved glass backed by a metal frame, and on the software side of things you get the vendor's Funtouch OS 2.5 atop Android 5.1 Lollipop. Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and fingerprint sensors are also standard on both phones.

For those that care about such things, Ranveer Singh is now the brand ambassador for Vivo. You'll be seeing the actor star in Vivo's TV commercials over the coming months.
