Twitter adds Highlight feature to Android first

Twitter wants to make sure that users are not missing out on things when they are busy with other tasks, and Highlights is the companies latest way to keep you informed of what happened during the day. The idea is simple: Twitter will send a push notification to users who opt-in, giving you a recap of popular posts from the day. Many things go into the selection of what is displayed, like which accounts and conversations are popular with users you follow.

Highlights, a fast and simple summary of Twitter, lets you catch up quickly on the best stuff that is most relevant to you. To create your Highlights, we look at things like the accounts and conversations that are popular among people you follow, Tweets from people you're closely tied to, topics and events that are trending in your area or within your network, and people that are popular or trending among people you follow.

Highlights is available in English to all Android users first. Users will need to enable the push notification as it is not turned on by default. To do so select your account handle, then head to the mobile notifications menu, and check the Highlights box,
