As far as industrial design goes, TVs aren't great. They add a lot of visual clutter to a room, particularly when not in use, and with some of the sizes they come in these days, they really dominate the room they are in. Most TV sets are pretty boring to look at too, with plastic bezels and chrome-effect stands. Not Samsung's The Frame. It's a 4K UHD TV set that, when not in use, transforms itself into a work of art and today only you can save almost $300 on the 43-inch 2018 model at B&H. It's going for $998 at Amazon right now, as a comparison.

Modern. Art.

Samsung The Frame, 43-inch

Go from a TV to a work of art in an instant with The Frame. At almost $300 off, this is the lowest we've ever seen it go.

$699 $997.99 $299 off

At its heart, The Frame is a UHD panel with smart TV functionality giving you access to all the usual streaming services and a full web browser. You can control the TV by voice using Bixby, or with the included OneRemote or free accompanying app. It also has 4 HDMI and 3 USB ports for hooking up all your devices.

The real magic happens when you switch from TV Mode to Art Mode. Instead of being a blank black expanse, The Frame shows art from the Samsung Art Store. There are hundreds of pieces of art to choose from including collections from the V&A Museum, the Tate Gallery, and Van Gogh Museum, and the display will refresh as often as you choose. You can also add up to 2GB of your own photos via the app or simply hook up a flash drive. An ambient light sensor ensures The Frame maintains a natural look, rather than looking like a screen. It also comes with a 'No Gap Wall Mount' so The Frame hangs flush to the wall just like a real picture frame would with just one slim cable connecting your power and video gear to the TV. You can also buy a variety of magnetic bezels for your Frame to customize the look or match your home decor.

Samsung has released updated 2019 The Frame sets, but prices range from $1,200 to $2,500 for those. Today's DealZone promotion at B&H is the best price we've seen on this TV by far and probably your best opportunity to add one of these to your home without spending a ton of money. If you're in a state where B&H now charges sales tax, you might also want to check out its new Payboo credit card that gives you the tax back in rewards. Shipping is free.
