Update: Sony has confirmed that the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will not feature a fingerprint scanner when the unlocked smartphone reaches the U.S.
Sony has announced that both the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will launch in the U.S. next month. Priced at $599.99 and $499.99 respectively, the two smartphones will be available unlocked and will support GSM networks.
There are those who have already picked them up unofficially at stores stocking international units. We've checked various outlets and have been unable to spot any official listings as-of-yet, though we'll be sure to update you all once the handsets launch in the states. As a side note, we've had no word on the availability of the Premium variant in the U.S.
