Update, December 18 (5:29 a.m. ET): CD Projekt Red has responded to Sony's decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store, stating it's "working hard" to bring the title back to the marketplace.

Cyberpunk 2077 released a week ago and since then, it's been the subject of mixed reception, especially on consoles. Today, Sony announced that players on PS4 and PS5 can request a refund for the game if they choose. Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment is pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store until further notice.

SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.
CD Projekt Red previously indicated PlayStation users needed to wait for additional information, which it appears has arrived. The game's performance on lower-end consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One has been the subject of intense scrutiny. In an emergency investor call, CD Projekt Red stated that not enough time was spent working on these versions of Cyberpunk 2077.
If you're interested in getting your digital copy of the game refunded but you aren't sure how, you'll need to sign in and go through the process with PlayStation Support. Previously, users were seeing rejections but that should no longer be the case.

"Following our discussion with PlayStation, a decision was made to temporarily suspend digital distribution of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store," a spokesperson for the company said in a tweet. Sony continues to offer refunds to buyers, although physical disc-based copies remain on sale.

The title remains available for purchase on Xbox consoles, as well as major PC platforms.
