How to make your Google Home multilingual

Google Home picked up bilingual support earlier this year, allowing you to converse with Google Assistant in two languages. The Assistant works with any pairing of English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Hindi, and Japanese, and you can switch between either language on the fly and the Assistant will understand your query.

  1. Open Google Home from the app drawer.
  2. Navigate to the Account tab in the lower right corner.
  3. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Languages.
  3. Tap Add a language.
  4. Select the second language you want to add to Assistant.

I've been trying out the English and Hindi language pairing, and the Assistant is astonishingly good at switching languages on the fly. If you speak to it in Hindi or any of the other languages listed above, it will respond in that language.
