BlueStacks teams up with Big Fish to bring Android games to desktop computers

Big Fish Games announced today that it is partnering with BlueStacks to bring its Android game offerings and casual gaming network to Windows and Mac PC's. An extremely popular game maker on both the desktop and mobile, Big Fish will utilize BlueStacks' virtualization technology to bring its popular mobile games to desktop computers, increasing the number of games it has on offer.

Beyond just bringing a current stable of great Android games from Big Fish to PC's, this partnership will enable other Android developers to monetize their apps on the desktop with Big Fish's casual gaming network. Going forward, mobile game developers that integrate with Big Fish's network will now have simple tools to also bring their games to the desktop with no complex porting process required.

Big Fish and BlueStacks Join Forces to Drive Mobile Monetization on One Billion PCs and Macs

World’s Largest Casual Gaming Network Added to Growing BlueStacks Network

Kiev, Ukraine  Oct 23, 2013 – At his keynote at the Casual Connect conference in Kiev today, Big Fish CEO Paul Thelen announced a partnership with San Jose-based BlueStacks that will add the company’s 80 million endpoints to the BlueStacks Network. The BlueStacks Network spans across Mobile, PC and TVs with Fonelink, App Player and Gamepop and includes distribution via partners like Qualcomm, Lenovo, Asus, MSI, AMD, and Intel. It’s 100M+ strong today. The integration will enable Android developers to monetize apps within Big Fish’s popular almost 4000-strong platform of PC-based games. Over two billion games have been downloaded since the company launched in 2002.

“This throws open the doors of Big Fish's PC and Mac app store to mobile developers all over the world. It means extra distribution and monetization with no development work,” said Big Fish CEO Paul Thelen. “Mobile now accounts for about half our revenue and many of our titles are being built only for mobile. Bringing the industry's best mobile IP to our massive PC install-base that is hungry for new types of games, especially in the new free-to-play segment, makes a ton of sense.  The technology to do this without developers having to port their games is extremely complex. BlueStacks is the only company that has really cracked it.”

BlueStacks, started in 2009, gets two million unique visitors to its site per month and counts over 1.2 million Facebook fans. This is one of the largest expansions of the BlueStacks platform to date. “Our Network has been growing faster than we ever imagined. Big Fish, with its reach and high-monetizing user base, is an awesome addition,” said BlueStacks CEO, Rosen Sharma. “Now, any developer who integrates with Big Fish will also be able to leverage the whole of the BlueStacks Network. This opens up a great additional monetization opportunity for developers."

BlueStacks has raised 13M in funding from Andreessen-Horowitz, Redpoint, Ignition Partners, Radar Partners, Qualcomm, Intel, AMD and others. The company recently announced its GamePop product, which will add Android gaming on TVs to the BlueStacks Network.
