Yahoo Mail app update for Android adds multiple mailbox support and more

Yahoo wants to get more people to use its long-running Yahoo Mail service; it's celebrating its 18th birthday this month. The company has revealed a major revamp of Yahoo Mail which includes an update for its Android app to introduce a new user interface, support for multiple mailbox accounts and more.

Yahoo says:

Most people have more than one email account. Now you can enjoy all the power of the new Yahoo Mail app (and our desktop interface) with your other mailboxes including Outlook.com, Hotmail, AOL Mail and, of course, Yahoo. For each connected mailbox, you now have access to Yahoo Mail's features – powerful search, smart contacts and auto-suggest, rich compose – across all your emails. The ability to manage multiple mailboxes is rolling out globally today in the Yahoo Mail app.

Some other improvements include the ability to attach multiple images and videos at once to emails, and a faster search experience. It also adds a way to access Yahoo Mail without an old-fashioned password with its new Account Key feature:

Account Key uses push notifications to provide a fast and secure way for you to access your Yahoo accounts from your smartphone. It frees you from memorizing complicated passwords, making signing-in to your Yahoo Mail app easy as tapping a button.

The Yahoo Mail app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the update is still rolling out and may not be available immediately for all Android users.
