Sony Ericcson’s Xperia Play seeks to bring a stellar gaming experience to Android. Dubbed for a while as the “Playstation Phone”, the Xperia Play features a slide out physical controller that contains optical trackpads instead of joysticks. Though not given the Playstation name, it is the first phone to be labeled Playstation Certified, which means that it will work well with Playstation games ported to Android.
As for the phone itself, it boasts a 1GHz Scorpion processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 4-inch FWVGA display and a 5.1 MP camera.
It will be available in a variety of countries on multiple carriers and on Verizon in the US.
