Xiaomi is showing off the camera on the Mi 5, which is a 16MP offering with a lot of interesting tech built-in. The phone is one of the first to offer 4-axis optical image stabilization, which aims to reduce motion blur when shooting moving objects.
The OIS on the Mi 5 offers rotational axis as well as transversal OIS, which particularly comes in handy during low-light conditions, and when capturing moving objects. Xiaomi demoed the feature in action, pitting the Mi 5 against the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus:
The Mi 5 is the first to offer Sony's IMX298 imaging sensor, which comes with PDAF and DTI (Deep Trench Isolation) pixel-to-pixel isolation, along with Qualcomm's Spectra ISP.
