Galaxy Note 3 + Gear

$299.99 on-contract for the Note 3, $299.99 outright for the Gear

Verizon Wireless subscribers, today's the day you can pick up Samsung's latest handset on your carrier of choice. The Galaxy Note 3 goes on sale today on Verizon, along with the Galaxy Gear companion smartwatch. The Verizon Note 3 is available in black and white colors for $299.99 on a standard two-year contract, and the carrier is also offering the Note and Gear at the same price point. If you're looking to buy a Verizon Galaxy Note 3 outright, you'll pay $699.99.

Verizon is the last major U.S. operator to get the Note 3 — T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T launched the big-screened phone last week, while the device arrived on U.S. Cellular yesterday. If you're picking up a Verizon Note 3 (or Galaxy Gear) today, hit the comments and make yourself known!

Going to the store as soon as they open to pick a black one up just phone for now will wait on gear to see what else is coming out

Same here. Going to check the dBm numbers between my GN2 and the GN3, if the GN3 is worse than the GN2 I'm gonna pass.

I believe so, network specs for the Note 3 are:
LTE, CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
Which, if I'm not mistaken, is Band 4 or LTE at AWS freq.

Beware! Please do research if you are interested in Root & custom Rom's. I believe that the bootloader is locked and developers might have a hard time unlocking or finding a way to get it unlocked. I personally had to cancel my AT&T plan and go to T-Mobile for the Note 3 to make sure it was unlocked. Verizon and AT&T are trying to work tightly with the enterprise customers. Just wanted to hopefully get the word of caution out. I wish someone would have warned me before I purchased my first Note 3 on AT&T.

That was your own fault sir, both ATT and Verizon have been locking their phones down for a while now. This is not new or surprising, luckily the devs will most likely come up with a solution for us like they have with the S4 (and the DNA and the One).

And the Note II... it's been kinda a fun conversation, between Verizon and one particular XDA Developer... look up the Casual exploit, it's an entertaining thing.

Check XDA forums I have a rooted GN3 as we speak, it does still need some work for the bootloader though, it will happen soon enough.

Meanwhile, everyone who wants a Gear but doesn't get a Note 3 gets a lovely paperweight for the next 6 months...

Wow really?! We all had no idea! Thank you so much for informing us! *sarcasm*

And where did you pull 6 months out of, I wonder

Especially since the updates for a bunch of Samsung phones are due out at the end of the month, of course vzw will be late on them, but they have products to sell and I am sure it will be soon after.

I have been planning to get a Note 3 but without the watch. I work in a secure environment and a data watch would be left outside. Also, the first option did not get very good reviews. I will not rush out to get the Note 3 right away. I will probably wait to see what others report on the Verizon version and let them deal with the initial rollout problems.

I am sure Verizon made good use of the the extra week. I can't wait to see what bloatware was added and which features were ripped out. /s

Got mine just now. It does not have infinite scrolling but does have the wifi toggle and blocking mode. So far that is all that I have noticed.

This was my first choice for upgrade but for some reason as the time got closer to today I am feeling it out for another month or so to see what else is coming out on the "BIG" phone front for Verizon. HTC One Max is coming and I would like to see what that has under the hood since I can't have a Nexus on Verizon.....

FYI. I have my Gear working on my S4. Once you get it just NFC bump it on the charger and it will download the software. Calling and controls work. I don't get notifications on the watch though. Still not sure if that's because it's an S4 and not fully compatible yet or if I am just missing something on the config. I have notifications turned on.

I want to pick one up this weekend but I'm having concerns about using Outlook calendar. Can anyone tell me 1) if it's possible 2) if so, how should I go about setting it up (i.e. what app to install)

I really disagree. While this watch is in its infant stage, its very useful on a day to day basis, and it's a great looking watch.
The notifications alone are helpful to me.

I am currenly with Verizon but I am going to change to AT&T.

Did Verizon ever announce an actual date they were going to release the Note 3? I never saw a confimed date but I just might have missed it.

I went to AT&T a couple days ago. They didn't have the black one but they were going to get them soon. They called me a few hours ago saying they have it.

I will answer honestly. Yes it was announced before today. AT&T, TMO, AND VERIZON all announced within a few days of each other sprint waited a week or so.

I may be wrong but they only announced they WILL release it. Not a specific date. Please correct me if I am wrong. I just never saw an exact date.

I AM NOT AMUSED!!

I have been testing out the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and have been loving it! Tonight, I went to a Verizon store to check out my carrier's version of the phone. It is NOT the same experience at all. It looks and feels LOCKED DOWN. Actually works like my Verizon Note 2. There's 4 folders already crammed full of apps on the Vphone. The Tphone has hardly anything on it and feels smoother. I hope there are settings in the Vphone so that I can return it to the Tphone look and feel.

Okay. I changed my mind and picked up a black Samsung Note 3. I did not get the watch and I am not interested in one, at least for now.

It room a while to get most of my apps and data on it. I have not had much time to test thing, but so far, it has been fine.

My next thing to do is find a case.

I purchased the last note 3 they had left in the store and I purchased the watch. I don't understand why people are hating on the watch so much. I've been using the watch and device non stop for 2 days and the watch has 35% battery left. I'm very happy with my purchase. I cannot wait for more software to come out for the watch.
