These are Google Play's best games, apps, movies and books of 2015 for India

Google is showcasing the best games, apps, movies and books of 2015 on the Play Store, and the content listed on the Indian variant of the store is considerably different from what's trending in the U.S.. As such, we've decided to give you a look at the content that's garnered the most attention in the subcontinent.

In a country where telemarketing really does know no bounds, Truecaller is usually one of the first apps installed on a new handset. Predictably, the Swedish company's app has surged through the rankings this year. Local streaming services such as Gaana and Saavn have also seen a marked increase in their userbase.

When it comes to games, the Angry Birds franchise is still quite popular, as are titles based on local animated TV series, Chhota Bheem. In the movies category, Hollywood blockbusters Interstellar and Kingsman: The Secret Service have done well in India, but the list is dominated by Bollywood titles. The books section is an amalgam of titles aimed at getting better at English, managing time and resources effectively, and Fifty Shades of Grey. This is the land of the Kamasutra after all.

Seeing as how access to the Indian Play Store is restricted to those residing in the country, we're going to list out the top ten items in each category:
