Motorola i1 has a 5 megapixel camera, Opera Mini as default browser?

Casey Chan News Friday, 12 March 2010

The Motorola i1, formerly the Motorola Opus One, has just gotten a wee bit more interesting. It's now supposed to pack a 5 megapixel camera, which can be termed as par for the course, and come with Opera Mini as the default browser, which is a little stunning. We guess this is Motorola stepping a bit outside of the typical Android getup and focusing more on their Motoblur...

How to: Get at the Motorola Devour's battery and microSD card

Phil Nickinson News Tuesday, 09 March 2010

We're well into our review of the Motorola Devour (check out our initial hands-on), but we wanted to take a station break to mention how to get at the battery and microSD card. Because the Devour is one of those newfangled "unibody" devices -- as in cast from a single piece...

Motorola Devour gets a video demo, looks good

Casey Chan News Monday, 22 February 2010

The Motorola Devour is slated to release this week so to whet your appetite, Motorola has just posted a video demo of this Android-powered, Motoblur-running device. A lot of the stuff we see in the demo is fairly familiar but one thing that sticks out to us is that the Devour looks to be amazingly well-built. The materials chosen, the small touches--we'...

Casey Chan News Thursday, 18 February 2010

AT&T just announced what we already expected, that the Motorola Backflip will become the first Android device on the AT&T network. The Backflip will be available in AT&T stores and online beginning March 7th for $99.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate. Great news all around!

It's interesting that AT&T chose an oddball device (we like the Backflip but it's still an oddball) to be the...

The Droid, Cliq, & Backflip aren't the only Motorola Android devices around. There's also the XT800 and MT710. Confused? Yeah, it's okay. Quick App: TETRIS for Moto Droid

You knew this was eventually going to happen. An official version of Tetris, from EA Mobile, was just released and it takes full advantage of the Motorola Droid's gorgeous screen.

Quick App: Meteor Deluxe for Moto Droid

Jeremy Sikora Applications, News Friday, 18 December 2009

Coming from an iPhone 3GS, I've been looking to find some quality Android games. And since the Motorola Droid was introduced, it's taken developers some time to make the proper adjustments to that 960x854 screen (and the only new resolution since Android launched). Developer Mobile Stream has done a nice job with its BrickBreaker-style game with Meteor Deluxe.

Meteor Deluxe for the Motorola Droid is currently available in the Market for $3.99 and offers all of the ex-BlackBerry users an excellent alternative to BrickBreaker...

Motorola Zeppelin Gets Pictured Again

Casey Chan News Monday, 14 December 2009

Why, hello again Motorola Zeppelin. We've seen the back of you already, and now we finally get to see your front face. The same good stuff we reported might be even better than...

Motorola Building Module To Get Phones On Both T-Mobile & AT&T 3G

Casey Chan News Friday, 11 December 2009

Though we love T-Mobile around these parts, we have to admit that their funky 3G band (1700 MHz) makes it rather unfriendly for unlockers. You have to be careful about which device you're getting, for use on what network because 3G may not work. Sure, most people don't run into the problem but as it stands now, if you have a T-Mobile 3G capable device, it won't work on AT&T 3G and if you have an AT&T 3G device, it won't work with T-Mobile 3G. Motorola is looking to...

Big Blue is the only carrier that doesn't offer an...

More Pictures of Motorola Sholes Tablet Pop Up

Casey Chan News Friday, 04 December 2009

The Motorola Sholes Tablet that popped up a few days ago has reared its (rather ugly) head again. The Sholes Tablet is actually looking less like a tablet and more like just a smartphone but any way you spin it, that odd bump on the lower right corner is unshapely and just plain weird. Considering the hard angles and clean lines of the DROID, it's rather odd that Motorola would...

Motorola Motus Picture and Specs

Casey Chan News Friday, 20 November 2009

The picture above, under all the blurriness, is the Motorola Motus, Motorola's next Android phone. It definitely shares a significant resemblance to the Motorola CLIQ but comes off with more sleekness. The keyboard is very flat looking but the buttons look pretty sizable, at least there's no d-pad to throw off the symmetry. What's most interesting to us is that the Motus looks like it could have an interesting slide/flip mechanism, from our perspective...

Hardware Review: Motorola Droid on Verizon

Casey Chan Smartphones, Featured Friday, 06 November 2009

It's pretty amazing to think how far Android has come in just one year. Just 12 months ago we were getting all excited about the T-Mobile G1 and the promises that Android 1.0 held. Fast forward 365 days and we're looking at all that potential realized--the Motorola DROID is simply a fantastic device and Android 2.0 makes it all the more amazing. The DROID is our faith in Android, re-affirmed.

Motorola DROID Roundup: Android Central's Coverage of Droid Day

Casey Chan News Thursday, 29 October 2009

Years from now, we might look back at October 28th, 2009 as Droid Day, the day Android stole everyone's attention. It was arguably a bigger day for Android than the launch of the first Android device, the T-Mobile G1. With the unveiling of the Verizon Motorola Droid, there was so much news popping up and information floating around that it was nearly impossible to keep track of it all. Luckily, the dust is beginning to settle a little bit--the Droid looks like...

Motorola Droid Pops Up On Motorola's Website, Comes With Leaked Specs

The cat, er Droid, is out of the bag. Motorola just went live with the official Droid webpage and it went into beautifully excruciating detail about this most anticipated device. Meet the Motorola Calgary, Verizon's Other Android Phone

Casey Chan News Tuesday, 20 October 2009

Say hello to the Motorola Calgary, Verizon's other Android phone in the works. Will the Motorola CLIQ Be Offered For Free ?

Casey Chan News Friday, 11 September 2009

The Motorola CLIQ was spotted yesterday for the low, low price of free (with qualifying contract). The CLIQ comes in either Winter White or Midnight Titanium and was supposedly also being offered for $399.99 without contract. Though no one could 'add the CLIQ to cart', a free Android phone would be an exciting prospect.

In the end, we're not sure if this price is going to stick, we're fairly certain T-Mobile would still like to squeeze a bit of...

Meet the Motorola CLIQ

Casey Chan News Thursday, 10 September 2009

Here's the Motorola CLIQ, in perfect detail. The CLIQ is Motorola's first official entry into the Android game and it looks like it'll be a good one. Judging from the press shots, we feel that the CLIQ is loads better than the prototype Morrison and a solid effort overall. Available on T-Mobile in the fourth quarter, T-Mobile and Motorola both expect the CLIQ to sell a ton of units.

The CLIQ will come in two color options: Winter White and Titanium and will have a 3.1 inch...

AT&T Denied Motorola Android Phones

Casey Chan News Friday, 28 August 2009

Though Android users don't have the same complaints with AT&T as iPhone users, that may change after the report of AT&T denying Motorola Android phones on their network comes out. By denying Motorola Android devices, the Death Star network is inhibiting their customers from enjoying all the smartphone world has to offer.

Motorola to Release 10 Smartphones Second Half 2009

Casey Chan News Monday, 18 May 2009

An analyst from Oppenheimer & Co. recently stated that Motorola plans to release 10 smartphones in the second half of this year. This obviously isn't concrete news from Motorola itself, but analysts do have some research (formula? magic? voodoo?) on determining this.

If this is true, this is amazing. 10 smartphones in the second half? Heck, if it's even half true, we'll be happy. There's no telling how many of those devices will run...
