Verizon Finally Announces DROID Eris, $99 Available Nov 6th

Verizon has officially made the DROID Eris, Verizon's version of the HTC Hero, well, official. Like previous reports, the DROID Eris will release on November 6th for the low, low price of $99 (after rebate, with 2 year contract). We're unsure of why Verizon decided to wait until the day before to announce this puppy but the pricing is absolutely on point. It feels like Verizon is the only carrier who "gets" it when it comes to pricing.

It looks like that countdown clock on the Droid website was ticking down to the official announcement of the Verizon Droid. Verizon just sent out invitations to the media that confirms what we already know--the Droid is made by Motorola headed to Verizon and going to be one of 'must-have devices of the year'. So come October 28th, be ready for the onslaught...

Honestly, we're not sure how to take this tweet from Sony Ericsson North America. They're hinting at product launches today but remain purposely vague on what product announcement it'll be. The rumors have always pointed towards Google releasing an Operating System but we just never really took it seriously. We figured Android is a desktop-class OS and many netbook manufacturers have taken a liking to it, so Google needn't bring another OS into the market. Oh how wrong we were.

T-Mobile just announced a myTouch 3G media event scheduled for July 8th in New York City. The date is notable because that's when T-Mobile will start taking pre-orders for the myTouch 3G. So when July 8th rolls around, don't be surprised when a ton of hands-on pictures pop up!

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G aka HTC Magic aka Google Ion has been formally announced as T-Mobile's Second Android Device with pre-orders starting July 8th and an expected August release date.
