We had originally reported back in February that the mysterious Huawei Android Device would launch in Q3 2009. Well, reports are again popping up that Huawei is planning to launch their device on T-Mobile in that same time frame.

No details are confirmed, we're still not sure what cell phone maker is going to adopt the Huawei device...

There are reports that the Acer Android smartphone will be called the A1 and that it'll arrive in September. Not to be confused with the tangy steak sauce, the A1 has a certain ring to it that works on a number of levels (Acer 1, Android 1, etc). A September release falls in line with Acer's super-secret, mysterious plans for Android in 2009.

HTC, maker of the T-Mobile G1 and hotly anticipated HTC Magic, is quite obviously the biggest (read: only) Android Smartphone maker on the market. So when HTC speaks, the Android world stops to listen. Peter Chou, the CEO of HTC, says that we can expect "at least" three Android Devices this year from HTC. We're not mad at that.

If you count the HTC Magic as one of the "three" devices, we should still expect two more HTC...

An analyst from Oppenheimer & Co. recently stated that Motorola plans to release 10 smartphones in the second half of this year. This obviously isn't concrete news from Motorola itself, but analysts do have some research (formula? magic? voodoo?) on determining this.

If this is true, this is amazing. 10 smartphones in the second half? Heck, if it's even half true, we'll be happy. There's no telling how many of those devices will run...

We've been telling anyone who would listen that Motorola Hardware + Android OS = Killer Device. We especially feel confident considering that Motorola without Android is simply floundering--they recently revealed that they lost about $4.6 BILLION dollars in the fourth quarter. Yeah, it can't get worse than that can it?

NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest mobile operator and a member of the Open Handset Alliance has confirmed that they'll be releasing a Android Device by September 2009. When contacted regarding their Android plans, NTT DoCoMo responded [via Phandroid]:

Our stance on Android Devices is that we want more of them, from any phone maker, on any network. Year 2009 seems to be shaping up in a big way for Android Devices and looks to be even bigger with Samsung confirming that they'll be bringing an Android Device to both Sprint AND T-Mobile this year. According to Samsung:

TmoNews has reported that the white version of the T-Mobile G1 is expected to be released after the Thanksgiving Holiday. If you remember correctly, the much anticipated, in-heavy-demand white G1 suffered from paint chipping issues that delayed its release. Though TmoNews is conservative in its estimate, we at Android Central have been hearing that the white version won't release until 2009. Hopefully, we're wrong because the white is HAWT.

Huawei Technologies has just announced that they'll be bringing an Android-powered device in the first half of 2009. Huawei has typically focused on cheaper, lower-end phones but have realigned their focus toward smartphones with customization capabilities.

Kyocera Wireless has announced that they will be developing a new smartphone specifically tailored for the Android OS. Kyocera will be working with Wind River, a middleware company that offers UI integration, to create the Android Device.
