There's some pretty sweet news for Moto E and Moto Maxx owners today: Motorola has announced that it has begun soak tests for Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Moto Maxx in Brazil and Mexico, along with the Moto E in Brazil and India.

Remember the soak test Motorola's release notes referenced last week? It is now rolling out to the 2014 Moto X Pure Edition. The 2014 Moto G is also joining in on the action, and users of the device can expect to see the update in the following days.
We've got wind that the 2014 Moto G has a soak test in preparation, so be on the lookout for some sort of software update for the best budget smartphone ever made. Just like the soak for its bigger brother the Moto X, we're not exactly sure what might be coming. But we know all of us with a Moto G want it, because it's fresh and new!
People rocking a 2014 Moto X Pure Edition — and signed up in the Moto Feedback Network — just received an alert about an upcoming soak test. Chances are, this is some bug fixes and maybe some preparation for a big OS upgrade coming soon, but you never can tell from Moto. They love to be first. We love them to be first, too, so we're paying close attention to this one.
You can, too, in the Moto...

Droid Maxx owners who have signed up for the Motorola Feedback Network have reported receiving an interesting email today. It seems that the Verizon-only handset is going to be undergoing a soak test for VoLTE in the very near future.
Android 4.4.4 has hit Nexuses and Google Play editions, and now it's the latest lineup of Motorola Droids that get in on the update fun with the latest soak test. As Motorola told us ahead of time, the Droid Maxx, Ultra and Mini are going to skip over Android 4.4.3 and go right to 4.4.4 — and those who are part of the Motorola Feedback Network are starting to see the OTA hit their devices.
We've been informed by a reader that Motorola Mobility is readying to push out a soak test for the Verizon's Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra, and Droid Mini tonight. The soak test is now being deployed to users who chose to participate in Motorola's program so it won't be available to all Droid owners at this time.
Motorola's Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx have been holding strong on Android 4.4 while their cousin the Moto X has seen the bump to 4.4.2, and now soak test invites are heading out that will bring the devices up to parity. Invites heading out usually mean that an update is close on the horizon, and should arrive within the next few days for those participating in the Motorola Feedback Network.
Roaming issues to be addressed by small update
Motorola has posted details about an update coming for the original Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX . While Motorola has already confirmed that these devices won't go past Android 4.1.2 it is obvious that this won't be KitKat, but it is still great to see. The update is set to fix some roaming issues that the device experienced in Canada as well as...
No clear indication of what the software update will bring
We've already seen Motorola roll out a rather quick Android 4.4 update for the Moto X, and now Droid 4 owners are receiving a soak test invitation. Shortly after rolling out the soak tests on the Moto X, Droid Ultra and various other devices the update starting hitting officially, and we hope for the same here. While this update is...
What specifically the update contains is still unknown at this point
We had more than a hunch it was coming, and now we have confirmation that those participating in the soak test for Verizon's latest Droids (Mini, Ultra and Maxx) are receiving an update starting tomorrow. Now what exactly you'll get if you're part of the program is unknown — our best guess is probably the same camera update...

New Droids getting ready for their turn at the big camera update
You have your shiny new Droid Maxx, Mini or Ultra. It's one hell of a phone, and in my opinion the best set of phones to ever hit Verizon. I wish there was a GSM Droid Maxx. But I digress.
You've been watching every other Moto X build phone get soak tests and updates that make the camera about a zillion times better. The good...
Android version of the test is unknown, Jelly Bean expected
Update: Shortly after the soak testers started getting emails, Verizon made 4.2 official for everyone with a Xoom. We're not sure if they still have something special planned for testers or if they're done with the Xoom.
Update 2: It seems that the soak test has begun, and it is for Android 4.1.2 — despite the official Verizon page (...
Verizon's Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD MAXX have something cooking up in Motorola's ovens, and emails are going out to potential testers right about now. Users who participate in the Motorola Feedback program and have one of the mentioned handsets are receiving instructions how to register to be included in the upcoming software test, and we imagine quite a few will be saying yes.
It may be on the slow track, but the Xoom LTE is set to receive Jelly Bean nearly a year after its ICS update
As it tends to do shortly before releasing an official update, Motorola is sending out "soak test" invitations to owners of the Verizon Xoom LTE for an impending Jelly Bean update. The soak test is usually the final line of testing with a slightly wider number of users before an update...
Turns out that Motorola support page may have been right after all
After a puzzling update to Motorola's support documentation for the Droid Bionic that indicated it would receive Jelly Bean in Q2 2013, soak test registration emails are being sent out to some users for the update. Soak tests, if you're not familiar, are a last level of testing with a small portion of users willing to give new...
The folks in our Motorola DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX forums are all aflutter this morning, and rightfully so. A new software soak test -- wherein a few brave souls get in some final testing before the real push begins -- is hitting devices, and Motorola's own changelog for the Android 4.1.2 update confirms something surprising: Custom software features are being replaced by stock Google apps...

We've received a few reports that emails are going out to invite Motorola Feedback Network members to try a new release of Jelly Bean for the Droid RAZR and the Droid RAZR MAXX.
Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Droid RAZR or Droid RAZR Maxx on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new Jelly Bean software release, and provide feedback. ...

Motorola and AT&T are looking for a few people to soak test an unknown software update for the Atrix 4G. Here's where everyone get's excited and thinks OMG it has to be Ice Cream Sandwich, and we answer OMG no it doesn't have to be Ice Cream Sandwich. Let's not get our collective hopes up just yet.
We do know that invitations to participate in an early preview of a new software release are...
