At a joint event in Thailand, Acer and Intel have debuted the latest smartphone to launch on the recently announced 'Lexington' chips for emerging markets. The Acer Liquid C1 as it will be known, follows the trend of average specs, but is a marked step up from the Intel reference device and the competitor products from Lava and Safaricom.

Intel, partnering with Safaricoma Kenyan based provider, has announced a new smartphone, the Yolo, headed to African markets. Back at CES, Intel took to the stage to introduce Lexington, which is their new processor targeted at emerging markets.
