Among all the announcements of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Gear VR, and the like from Samsung at IFA 2014, we also got our first look at Samsung's new ruggedized tablet: the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active. Essentially it's a Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 LTE, but with a more durable construction about it. IP67 certified durability, that is.

At the IFA in Berlin, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab Active, a ruggedized 8-inch tablet that can withstand a 1.2-meter fall thanks to its protective coating. Certified IP67, the tablet is dust and water resistant and comes with a tougher version of the S Pen stylus, called the C Pen, that provides an alternate form of input for when you're wearing gloves.
