Super! is a new quasi-social network built around caption-prompted photos

In case you didn't think you had a reason for another photo-oriented social network on your Android smartphone (hello, Instagram, Imugr, 500px, et al), there's a new one from serial entrepreneur and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone: Super!

The app (which we're just going to call "Super", no exclamation, for the sake of our own sanity) focuses on imagery, but unlike those networks listed above it also focuses on bold captions overlaid on top of those photos with prompts like "The Best" and "My Favorite" and "The Sexiest" and "Definitely Don't". You then complete the sentence and "sign it" with, well, whatever tag you with to sign, and publish.

Super is built around simplicity, with a straightforward full-screen interface, bright and bold colors, and a few gestures that are prompted when you tap in areas without discrete buttons. There are some parts that are confusing — there are filters, but you can only cycle through them by tapping on your photo — or somewhat daunting — you can respond to a post on Super, but you also have to do it with an image overlaid with a caption, but overall it seems like it might be rather fun. You can even post anonymously if you so desire.

The initial load of posts on Super is practically oozing with excitement and positivity, and hopefully that mood will be able to persist as the network goes on… but we fear it could go off track really quick. We'll see. Check it out and let us know if there's a place in your life for Super.
