Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

Sony fans in the UK have a new option if they want a smaller handset: the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is now available on Three. Launching today both in stores and online, the Xperia Z1 Compact can be had for £29-a-month on a contract plan, or upfront for a relatively affordable £359.99 if you go for the pre-paid option.

Overall, we'd call ourselves fans of the Xperia Z1 Compact. It brings all of the power of the larger flagship Xperia Z1, but in smaller package. One might even call it "compact", though it's a little disconcerting that a 4.3-inch screen is considered "compact" these days.

Earlier this month both the Z1 and Z1 Compact, as well as the Z Ultra, received software updates to Android 4.4 KitKat, bringing refreshed UI and a selection of new KitKat features.

Now that the Z1 Compact is available on Three, who is going to take the plunge? Or are new options from HTC and upcoming options from Samsung more tempting?

Plus if you are a Three customer you can share to their heart’s content with Feel at Home*, safe in the knowledge that you won’t incur any international roaming charges.” The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is also waterproof** and dust resistant and features a STAMINA mode to improve standby time, so it’s perfect for long haul trips, where preserving battery life is priceless.
