Sony announces the Xperia Z2 in Taiwan, slated for July launch

Sony has launched the Xperia Z2a in Taiwan. This device is very similar to the Xperia Z2 that recently launched globally, but in a slightly different plastic-backed chassis, running on Taiwanese 4G LTE networks.

As well as LTE, the device sports a 5-inch 1080p display, 3,000mAh fixed battery, Snapdragon 801 chip, 3GB RAM and a 20.7MP rear shooter. There's also IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance to keep the phone safe around the pool. The Z2a is expected to be released in July with three colored variants available: black, white and turquoise. We reviewed the Xperia Z2 and found it to be one of the best all-round Android phones we've tested, so at least the new Z2a is building on solid foundations.

Unfortunately no pricing has been confirmed yet, but we should have more details closer to the phone's July launch.
