Samsung Galaxy Alpha

While we're waiting for further details on the upcoming mid-range all-metal device, Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Alpha will be making its way to Canada on September 26.

The Galaxy Alpha will be priced at 699 CAD ($637), with carriers Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile offering the device in three color variants — Charcoal Black, Dazzling White and Frosted Gold — in the country. Meanwhile, SamMobile is stating that the device is also set to launch in the UK, with the unlocked price at £549 ($880), which is £50 ($80) more than what Clove is asking.

As far as specs are concerned, you're getting a 4.7-inch 720p display, octa-core Exynos CPU with four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four cores at 1.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, 12 MP camera, Wi-Fi ac, LTE connectivity and an 1,860 mAh battery. Being a flagship device, the Galaxy Alpha comes with a fingerprint scanner, heart rate monitor and software-based utilities like Ultra Power Saving Mode, Download Booster and Private Mode on the latest TouchWiz skin running Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
