OnePlus One 33R

If you've got a OnePlus One, be on the lookout for a quick new software update. Officially it "provides critical security updates." Only slightly less officially is that a nagging battery drain should now be nipped in the bud. Version XNPH3RR is rolling out right about ... now.

OnePlus One gets a battery drain bugfix

I prefer to get my updates OTA... Snail mail is too slow.

@PhilNickinson Please use your powers to tell the folks that do the awesome job of keeping this site all neat and tidy to add the OnePlus One as a Primary Phone for our profiles. Please, no contests for that option!

Well this will be useful once I get it.
If I get it.

Well they have the new contest, also look on eBay, there are a whole bunch of phones and invited on there

Posted via Android Central App on 1+1

I have an invite, its in my basket, I just need the money to get it.

Such a scam that they're still doing this invite crapola. And then you have to deal with half-baked CM releases.

I want the OPO but now seeing rumored specs for the Motorola Nexus, it's a no Brainer. I'll get it and sell it when the nexus comes out. Lol. Just kidding. I'm gonna wait for the Nexus and give my OPO account away.

If the Motorola N6 bears fruit it'll make a perfect bookend with the OnePlus One.

Nice side loaded already.. Can't wait for OTA, patience is not my virtue. Android police has the OTA in their post.

Sweet! Thanks!

OPO is giving away 10,000 INVITES this week. Why aren't we getting a topic about that? Actually a good contest this time.

How about putting them on the shelves and stop playing games. The contest would be 'first 10k to the store can buy them'

That is an awesome contest

I agree they should put the 10,000 phones on the website as for sale rather than another contest, really enjoying my one plus one but really getting tired of these contest.

A lot of those people in the forums are just trolling anyway. They are there for the social part of it and waste invites. It's. A. Scam.

Sideloaded last night after checking for OTA and no go. Started the day with a full charge to see if the battery life has improved, not that it was horrible. Oh and it seems faster! lol!

Nice job to CM for the steady stream of updates!

I hope there's a fix for the lockscreen wallpaper included. I have no battery issues but appreciate the support.

Couldn't agree more! I was so excited about this device and they ruined it completely with stupid marketing gimmicks..

AC@N5

I tried to flash update zip and it keeps telling me error executing update binary

Posted via Android Central App on 1+1

Wait for the update to come through wirelessly then.

Well at least its getting updates. They've officially announced an L update ( which I think it will get, hopefully on schedule ) but I wonder what longterm support will be like.

No credit to OPPO for any of that, CM is doing the heavy lifting on most models (except the ones in China I think)

Correct, the Chinese version of the OPO runs "Color OS" and does not run the CM version. I think Color OS is the same OS on the OPPO Find 5. I think.

+1
As much as I like the customizations and all, CM is far from mature OS. Too many issues all the time. Why would I buy a phone and desperately wait for the updates every week.

Well, I do not disagree with you but I am going to give CM a bit of credit. A lot of the issues and bugs with other phone is due to them trying to use generic drivers for things like BT, WiFi, radios and stuff along those lines because they are closed source from the OEM. That causes a ton of issues.

They do not have that excuse with OPPO since they are supposed to be the official ROM for the phone but yet they still have issues. I really do not get that and have to chalk it up to asshattery either on CMs part or on OPPOs part.

Quite honestly with the kind of disarray that OPPO has ALWAYs been I would give them more blame than CM (I would call it a 25/75 split).

Bottom line for me is that OPPO needs to stick to Blu ray players and knock the other crap off, they are no good at it.

Suppose to last for 2 years, I am sure developer community will keep it alive after that

Posted via Android Central App on 1+1

CM has pledged and guaranteed support for 2 years. Like the previous comment said, they're doing the real work software wise anyway

See, this is how all companies should handle updates, and provide it to the whole world.
I wish other companies will follow how this company handles updates, and for a long time, much longer than just 18 months.

Cyanogen should partner up more. A nexus cyanogen edition would be nice. Run stock android or cm with all the customization options

Posted via my OnePlus One

Yes and no. That would be a potential catastrophe. nexus has always been unpolished out of box w multiple updates within a week or two - adding CM on top would be as good as baking soda :)
Nexus has become a mainstream device by now, so they should put some label on the back as a little warning - "developers or uber enthusiast edition". :)

Just got mines. So far call quality is better. Maybe that was apart of the audio fixes

Posted via my OnePlus One

I think it also included adjustments to the radios. Battery life has been pretty good so far. Will wait to hit the 12 hour mark at 7 pm to evaluate.

Did the update late last night. So far my battery life has drastically improved. It's almost 5pm here and I still have 59% left. Earlier in the week, I would have around 20% or so

Just got an invite, but it came in 2 months too late. I am very happy with my LG G3.

Posted via my LG G3

I didn't recall any significant battery drain, but I do notice a difference, just updated a few hours ago.

Posted via Android Central App

Good! I have yet to see if this update helps with battery life. Ill test it tomorrow morning when its fully charged

Posted via Android Central App

I really did not have much of a battery drain issue. Now I really don't! This really is a spectacular phone. Software and hardware.

Great phone at a ridiculous price when purchasing it from Canada after taxes and shipping and customs. May be worth the wait for the Nexus.
