World Cup boot logo

Folks with a late-model Motorola device, get ready for a new boot animation! Motorola is sending out an update to the Motorola Boot Services app to celebrate "a month of soccer" during this year's World Cup. Just like the last time Boot Services was updated, you'll have to wait your turn to see a splash of football. It shouldn't take long.

Will not update. Hate soccer, I mean football

+1, I find it disgusting, revolting and insulting. Especially being in America

Posted via Android Central App

That's cool, keep your seppo sports, leave the real football to the rest of the world

I don't like any sports but I couldn't give less of a crap what the moto boot animation is.

At least (soccer) football you play with your feet... American here that has zero interest in either sport.

How long are they supposed to last once installed? Mine usually disappears after a week or less =(

jacob114489 says:

That's normally how long they set them to last. Motorola sets them to expire after x amount of days. If they keep up their pattern, I suspect we will have the new animation till a few days after the cup, then back to normal.

A month of FOOTBALL, NOT Soccer!!

Posted via Android Central App

TAKE IT UP WITH MOTOROLA!!

This is why I put it in quotes in the article.

KWKSLVR says:

Keep it real Jerry, haters gonna hate. There's only one real football and the ball ain't round! ;)

Posted via Android Central App

Castro90 says:

do you mean hand-egg?

floriyann says:

Lmao Jerry i just saw the title thats why I said that :p and then I saw the quote, so you're allowed to live longer now haha ;). Jk.

For the other guy saying that there is one football, yeah there is only one and the ball is round. Moreover that football is watched by 4 billion people. Thats when u realize that there is 7 billion inhabitants on earth and that's where u realize it's the most watched sport in the world.

But well i stop there, since in the american culture they don't teach that. And i get it since every culture is different. But giving an unholy name to the best sport in the world, I still find it unacceptable

Posted via Android Central App

Best sport in the world is hockey. Yeah.

floriyann says:

Lmaoooo your comment just made my night dude

Posted via Android Central App

Why? Cause you think it's funny that that's my opinion?

Posted via Android Central App

floriyann says:

Oh no, i thought it was sarcastic at first because i actually never met a hockey fan. But if it's your opinion then i fully respect that dude. After all the world cannot have the same opinion on everything right?

Posted via Android Central App

Exactly. And that's what I was getting at. I can see where that sounded sarcastic, but no, it was.

I was fine with soccer here in America until ESPN and the soccer gods started two things.

1) Insinuating that American Society should embrace soccer

2) Insinuating someone is a bad person for liking that evil, barbaric sports organization called the NFL.

After this newest commercial campaign slamming football started, well, now I'm completely over walking around with kid gloves.

Soccer can screw itself. I don't go slamming soccer in Brazil, so leave my football alone here in America. If we wanted to watch games that last for hours only to end 0-0 and have someone declared a winner, we'd watch a bunch of kids play T-Ball. But, much like the capitalist pigs we are, well, we want more out of life. ;)

I'm kind of sick of these boot service updates. I rarely reboot my phone, and when I do, it's not like I'm sitting there gazing lovingly at the phone while it starts up.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Moto X, but stuff like this just seems like a waste of bandwidth to me.

Did the first-ish screen say 'Powered By Android' before this update? I can't remember.

NickLippert says:

Yup, they updated it a few months back, maybe for the April fool's day boot screen.

No it said a "Google Company" which is what mine is stuck on after this football animation expires, when it should say "Powered By ANDROID".

Cubfan says:

Flop-ball, not soccer. Definitely not football that real men play.

You had to go there. Good luck.

Posted via Android Central App

Cubfan says:

Try to watch 10 minutes without seeing someone faking injury. Sickening.

Posted via Android Central App

Hey, I'm on your side.

Posted via Android Central App

Ahahahahaha I hate that crap. Its just as bad as the NBA. Its superbly pathetic.

Posted via Android Central App

Well there goes my boycott of FIFA.

Schhy says:

Damn, Americans need to stop bashing the sport. Its the sport of the world, no need to hate. People have no chill lol

We will when they stop flopping and soccer fans quit rioting, throwing bags of urine, blood on the field. Oh and pipe bombs. Great sport

Cubfan says:

And bananas.

Posted via Android Central App

I only bash this sport because of the flopping. I like seeing the talent and athleticism. Not that flopping crap.

Posted via Android Central App

udazavlanje says:

People tend to forget what the sport is all about and love to point at flaws of one as the other (they worship) is the perfect, Ultimate athletic and tactical competing that entertains.
I'll never understand logic and enjoy many of the sports (for whatever reason) and that's perfectly alright.
Professional sports turned into money making, body destroying machine, anyway, so to be passionate about it is childish. Actually, it's childish however you look at it.

VZW Moto X

Reading that comment was a little tough. But I think I get the gist. And I somewhat agree. But a lot of people are just too passionate, myself included at times, and that's just how it is.

Posted via Android Central App

udazavlanje says:

I didn't say that I'm not passionate (very few sports now). Luckily for my heart, and nerves, "going crazy" not so often. :) but, when I do, "how hideous of me" always crosses my mind.
Calling out others for what they like or participate in is definitely beyond childish. :)
VZW Moto X

I can agree with calling others out personally, being childish and unnecessary. Believe me when I say, I've been personally bashed because I love hockey. Which is why I don't directly bash people, just the sport.
