The Motorola Turbo Charger – based on Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology – is all set to make its debut in the UK for £24.99 ($39), with sales set to commence mid-March.
The Turbo Charger is not limited to charging Motorola's smartphones, and can be used with any device. However, Motorola does mention that supercharging – through which the charger delivers up to eight hours of battery life after fifteen minutes of charging – is optimized for Motorola devices that have Quick Charge 2.0 enabled. Quick charging works by sending a higher voltage to your phone, which in turns charges the battery faster. Want to know more about how the technology works? If you're using a non-Motorola smartphone that does not have support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 built in, the Turbo Charger delivers a slightly lower voltage. Motorola's offering is one of the several quick charging solutions currently available on Android. Once the accessory is up for purchase in the country this is where you'll be able to buy it from.
