Republic Wireless has announced that it will begin offering the Moto G 2015 to its customers on October 27. Offering both the 8GB and 16GB models, Republic is pricing the smartphone at $199 or $229 respectively. For those not looking to spend a ton of money on their next smartphone, but don't want to compromise everything in order to do so, the Moto G is a great option.
Featuriing a 5-inch HD display covered by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3, the Moto G offers a 13MP camera on the rear that takes some great pictures. Both the 8GB and 16GB model from Republic Wireless come with only 1GB of RAM, compared to the 2GB offering that Motorola has for the larger capacity model. Republic has opted to keep both at 1GB of RAM so that the same software can run on both, instead of needing to keep two different versions updated. Both phones can take a microSD card for additional storage as well.
Republic offers a variety of plans that will work with this smartphone, ranging in price from $5 a month to $40 a month. For $5 you get unlimited Wi-Fi calling, texting and data, while $40 gets you the same Wi-Fi experience, plus unlimited calls and texts over cellular, along with 2GB of data. To sweeten the deal, Republic also refunds you for unused data.
