MetroPCS takes aim at Sprint customers, will slash bills in half for those who switch

T-Mobile is aiming at Sprint customers again, this time with a promotion for those who make the jump to its prepaid subsidiary, MetroPCS. Not only is MetroPCS looking to save you some cash on your monthly bill, but the carrier will also give you a free phone, up to a $50 value, when you bring your line over to its network. The promotion begins on January 21, and to take part all you have to do is visit your local MetroPCS location to get started.

The 50 percent savings comes based on Sprint's current Family Share Pack pricing, but as expected not everyone will save that much. Some of the phones you can get for free are the LG Leon, Kyocera Hyrdo WAVE, Samsung Core Prime and the LG K7, or you can use the $50 rebate towards a phone of your choice from MetroPCS. T-Mobile boasts that on average 5,000 customers are already jumping from Sprint and its prepaid networks to MetroPCS. Will this promotion be enough to make you switch?
