Microsoft has released an update for its Lync 2013 business messaging app for Android in the Google Play Store that adds a way to join an online meeting without a Lync account, along with some other new features.
The new Anonymous Join feature is already in the Lync apps for iOS and Windows Phone. Microsoft says:
With this feature you can join a Lync Meeting even if you don't have a Lync account. That means you can invite colleagues, partners and customers to Lync Meetings and know that no matter how they choose to join—including on Android mobile devices—they'll get great audio and video quality and call security without needing a PIN and dial-in numbers.
The new version also allows users to manage their contact list, along with additional certificate and passive authentication support.
