Motorola surprised us today by introducing not two, but three new smartphones, with the Moto X Style standing as their new flagship. It's a big phone, physically and in aspiration. Where the previous generations of Moto X have been well-regarded but always offered a critical flaw, Motorola's pulling out all the stops with the Moto X Style.
Two years ago we had a Moto X with a 720p display — today it's nearly an inch larger and sports four times as many pixels. The camera's a beast of a 21MP sensor that Motorola's willing to put head-to-head against camera titans like the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6. And where those previous two have hurt for battery life thanks to their svelte figures, the Moto X Style boasts a 3000mAh battery good for a claimed 30 hours of mixed use.
Of course, we'll have to spend more time with this phone to draw some real conclusions, and it's going to be a while until we get the chance: the Moto X Style isn't coming out until September. But when it does, it'll be priced starting at a mere $399.
