EPIX to allow subscribers to download movies to Android

Subscribers to the EPIX premium cable network will soon be able to download a number of movies and TV shows on Android The network has revealed that it will add this feature to the Google Play Store app later this month for users who want to watch their selection of content without the need for a constant Internet connection.

EPIX, which runs current and classic movies from Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM, along with documentaries and comedy specials, stated:

The new download feature will offer EPIX's biggest titles on demand, including hit movie franchises The Hunger Games, James Bond, and Star Trek, original documentaries and music and comedy events featuring marquee talent including Katy Perry, Craig Ferguson, Louis CK, Mark Maron and more.

Movies and shows on EPIX will disappear from Netflix at the end of September but will then be available on the Hulu service in October.
