Dropcam is a cloud-connected Wi-Fi camera system with free live streaming, two-way radio and remote monitoring services. Dropcams install easily at work or home and connect to a companion smartphone app for remote use. Users can turn the camera on or off depending on location, share with other users, schedule on/off times and record directly to the cloud. Dropcam is available in a regular and Pro varieties. Dropcam also offers Tabs a small device that can be used to monitor windows, doors or valuables. The Tabs have built-in motion sensing capabilities and work independently from the Dropcam cameras.
In June 2014, Google and Nest bought Dropcam for $555 million.
