This week's sidebar poll: Are you running the Lollipop preview?

52
LOLLY-LOLLY

Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolly lolly lolly ...

We're back with another poll, where we get to pick your brains a bit and find out how you think, what you're doing, and what you love (and hate)! It's my favorite post to write each week, and this go 'round is going to be a fun one, I think.

Google has released "beta" previews of Lollipop for all of us to install and try. They have bugs, sport a new user interface design, and give us a peek at what having a Nexus 6 or Nexus 9 will be like. I know plenty of my hardcore Nexus buddies out there have flashed it. I also know that plenty haven't, and a lot have switched back. Beta software means bugs. And of course, being available for only one phone makes a helluva difference.

Here's you chance to tell me what you've done, and to fill the comments with friendly banter all about the Lollipop preview, the Nexus, and anything else that's on your mind. The poll follows.

Hands-free automation: Tasker and AutoVoice Part 1

29

Tasker does a lot. And it does even more with plugins, of which the unofficial king is AutoVoice. AutoVoice brings new worlds of functionality to Tasker and whatever device it runs on. On newer phones, AutoVoice can add to the hands-free functions of Google Now with little effort. On older phones, AutoVoice can replicate much of Google Now and its hands-free functions. And while I've covered it before, repeatedly, today, we're gonna dive a little deeper into Tasker and AutoVoice.

Okay, Google Now… let's begin.

LG G3 Vigor review

42
G3 Vigor

Meet the G3's little brother

We imagine LG is feeling pretty good about themselves as of late. Their last few Android phones and tablets have received critical acclaim, and even if they aren't topping the sales charts just yet the name is out there and people are starting to equate it with "really good Android phones". We're not going to argue, as pretty much all of us here at AC think the Nexus 5, the LG G2 and the LG G3 were fantastic phones.

Of course, you'll also want to capitalize on the success of your popular models, and the introduction of the LG G3 Vigor — a smaller, more base-model (read: inexpensive) phone carrying much of the same look and feel of the flagship whose name it carries makes perfect sense.

Lets have a look at the G3 Vigor, and see how it measures up.

US Prepaid Carriers Buyer's Guide

Sponsored by MetroPCS

With kids back in school and budgets tight, prepaid carriers are often the way to go for anyone with a smartphone. Instead of paying your monthly bill after having used your wireless service, you pay beforehand for a set bucket of data.

There are compromises to be made when signing up for a prepaid carrier, but for the most part, the added flexibility makes it all worth while. Conditions and service plans vary wildly across providers, but we're going to sort through the big ones and hopefully point you in the right direction.
