Polycarbonate HTC One E8 launches in India alongside the affordable Desire 616

The HTC one E8 has officially launched in India with a price tag of Rs 34,900 (or $580). The device is an interesting Android smartphone since it's not made of metal, but polycarbonate. The One E8 (essentially a more affordable version of the One M8) will be available for purchase from the end of July and comes packing dual-SIM support.

LG G3 launches on AT&T, Sprint begins taking pre-orders

Today is the official launch day of the LG G3 on AT&T, and buyers can now pick up LG's latest handset for $199.99 up front on a standard two-year plan, or for $24.17 per month through an 18-month AT&T Next deal. Alternatively an off-contract AT&T LG G3 will set you back $579.99. If you pick up an LG G Watch at the same time, AT&T will knock 50 percent off the price of the wearable.

Meanwhile Sprint has today begun taking LG G3 pre-orders, and like AT&T it'll charge you $199.99 on a two-year plan for the phone. Sprint also offers the G3 through Easy Pay for $25 per month, or upfront for $599.99. Sprint's G3 is expected to start making its way out to customers from July 18.

SwiftKey's move to drop the price tag of its keyboard offering in Google Play from $3.99 to free was a popular one among would-be users, and it turns out a good number went ahead and made the install after the price drop. Since going free back in June, SwiftKey has seen a 54 percent boost in monthly users, something that just wouldn't have happened at this point in its life if it had kept the paid-only model around.

Motorola confirms Android 4.4.4 rollout is well under way

We've covered the rollout of Android 4.4.4 to various Motorola devices, including the Moto E, Moto G and latest Droids, but Motorola has come out and named all of the devices and regions that are currently receiving the update. Taking to its blog, Motorola explained that the Moto G is currently getting the 4.4.4 update in both Brazil and India, while the Moto E is picking it up in Brazil, France, Canada and Asia.
