eBay's RedLaser barcode scanning app now on Google Glass

0

Anybody packing Google Glass will now have a good reason to wear them while shopping, since eBay-owned RedLaser has just released their eyewear-friendly version. Using the integrated camera or microphone on Google Glass, users can do product look-ups spanning a massive database, compare prices, and find nearby retailers just itching to sell that certain something to you.

You can get GPS coordinates and navigation to get there, or if they offer online selling, you can have them send you an e-mail and complete the transaction with a click.

HTC moves Sense Input keyboard onto Google Play

19

Like other parts of HTC Sense 6, the HTC Sense Input keyboard has made its way to Google Play. That means that HTC can now push updates to the keyboard with ease and not have to lean on a full system update just to tweak the keyboard — and that updated can go out to all supporting devices instead of waiting for each device update to be completed and then waiting again for carrier approval.

Hands-on with the AT&T LG G3

LG G3

All the LG G3 you love, with plenty of AT&T piled on for flavor

All of us here at the AC office are pretty much in love with the LG G3. We're not even going to try and deny it, nor should we. This is a damn good phone. It was good when Alex first reviewed it (and that is a must-read) and I was happy when Phil shipped me the AT&T version to have a long hard look at. I've been looking long and looking hard for about a week now, and it's time to put some words on some paper. Or a screen. You know what I mean.

Amazon is swinging their Fire TV trademark at a small fan site, FireTVNews.com. This sort of thing isn't uncommon and not entirely unexpected since the word "Fire" is included on Amazon's list of trademarks, but it's still unfortunate for the site owners, and perhaps a little overzealous on Amazon's part to be going after a fansite like that.

European LG G3 gets first firmware update

5

The European LG G3 — the LG-D855 if you want to get technical — has today received its first over-the-air update, landing on firmware version 10e. Unlocked G3s in the UK and parts of Asia, where the D855 is also sold, seem to be first with this update; other countries and carrier variants likely to get the update in the days and weeks ahead. It's not entirely clear what's new in v10e, but the update dialog refers to app updates or "power optimizations" depending on region. In any case, it's still based upon Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and our Euro G3 doesn't seem to have changed too much after applying this latest update.
