27

Apps are fun. They are what keep our devices in our hands far longer then they should be, and allow us to do lots of different things while on the go. Unfortunately finding the perfect app is not always easy, but that's where we step in and help you all out. So, let's hit the break and take a look at some of our favorites from this week.

Android Market adds user review breakdowns

13

If any of you have been on the Android Market as of late, you might have noticed another helpful addition right beneath the screenshots. For your viewing pleasure, it looks like Google has rolled out a total rating breakdown, as well as a more accurate average rating.

This is a much welcome and helpful feature, especially if you just need to know if that 4.5 star rating is really a 4.5. More transparency is always good, especially when you're trying to judge the quality of an app prior to installation.

I think we can all agree, though, that the most useful feature is finally getting to see how many people 1-star rated something. And we all know the name for those folk: trolls.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

AC on TV: Verizon's tiered data pricing leak

74

Not sure where they got that Verizon's actually announced anything (our leak was just that -- a leak), but at least they spelled our name right.

BAMF GingerBolt Sense 3.0 stripped ROM for the HTC Thunderbolt [From the Forums]

11

While some folks swoon over HTC Sense, there is a good amount of people out there who just simply do not like it. This is yet another one of those great things about the Android platform -- if you don't like something, chances are someone will make a build of it that you will like. Such is the case for the HTC Thunderbolt this time around.

Das BAMF being one of the most popular ROMs for the Thunderbolt has now been stripped of most of its HTC Sense components and we're left with BAMF GingerBolt Sense 3.0 stripped that makes use of the MR2.5 Gingerbread radio and other nice things such as the Das Bamf Toolkit. The developer behind this, TMZ_Andrew, has posted the nitty gritty details in the Android Central forums so if you're looking to go senseless on your Thunderbolt you'll certainly want to check it out and be sure to leave some feedback -- it is a beta though so keep that in mind.

Radio Shack EVO 3D launch party

27

Read our HTC EVO 3D initial review

Youtube link for mobile viewing

Hi everyone, I'm Ashley Esqueda; you might know me from Twitter (@androidashley) or my show Techfoolery. In a stroke of awesome luck, Phil and the guys here at Android Central asked me to cover the Radio Shack launch party for the HTC EVO 3D in Hollywood, Calif. I'm a huge EVO fan, so I packed up my video equipment, put on a hip outfit, and headed to the green carpet!

It was a star-studded event, with celebs like "Chuck" actor Zachary Levi and socialite Paris Hilton making appearances, so it made for a fun night of merriment and technology. Black Beauty (the sweet ride featured in the Green Hornet) made an appearance to promote the 3D version of the movie and its availability on the EVO 3D, and club favorite LMFAO performed for attendees.

Overall, it was a pretty sweet event. Check it out!

Best Buy inventory screen shows Droid 3 on July 13 -- we've been here before, people

7

It's entirely possible that this Best Buy inventory screen indeed means that the as-yet unannounced Motorola Droid 3 will be in stock July 13, with a possible July 14 release. Yes, it could be true.

Of course, this is Verizon we're talking about, and ain't nothing official until it's official, ya dig? In fact, we've seen this sort of thing before. Anybody remember when the HTC ThunderBolt was slated to be "in-stock" at Best Buy on Feb. 14? And that obviously didn't happen, with release finally coming a month or so later.

So here we go again, folks.
